The 2011 Rennie Estate Winery Scarata, made with Cabernet Sauvignon using the appassimento method and spent 18 months in new French Oak. The wine has captivating aromas of woody cranberry, cherry, raspberry, cedar and oak. It is a medium bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine; BALANCED with crisp acidity, grippy tannins and a long finish. Drink by itself or with red meats; drink now – 2020++. My impression: BEAUTIFUL, 91 pts – recommended for its quality.

The 2011 Rennie Estate Winery Assemblage ”G”, composed of 50% Merlot and an even split between both Cabernets that were dried for 70 days (appassimento method) and subsequently spent 18 months in French Oak. It has seductive notes of raspberry, blackberry and black cherry and subtle vanilla and oak. It is a full bodied, extra-dry, fruity to integrated wine; BALANCED with good acidity, grippy tannins and a long, smooth finish. Enjoy this wine on-its-own; drink now – 2025. My impression: BEAUTIFUL, 93 pts – recommended for its quality.
