2013 Christine Chardonnay

IMPRESSIONS: Bountiful tropical fruit aromas include mandarin orange, accented by spicy ginger and butterscotch. A sumptuous mouthfeel, punctuated by nimble acidity. Flavours indicate green apple, pineapple and vanilla with a lemon flourish. 

WINEMAKER NOTES: Chardonnay grapes were hand harvested from Graham and Christine Rennie’s Heron Pond Benchland Vineyard on September 19th. Sugar ripeness was 23.6° Brix, and the fruit was whole-cluster pressed. Fermentation and eighteen months ageing with regular stirring on the lees was completed in new French oak barrels. As the wine was bottled unfiltered in the spring of 2014, alcohol measured 14%.
